INTELLICOMMS ONLINE and GAMING MICROPHONE
This video demonstration shows how the Intellicomms Microphone does not respond to disturbing background speech – a major problem for gaming and online use.
The first demonstration, using a standard laptop microphone with the default operating system and application settings, shows how background speech is easily transmitted. It begins with a parent, speaking at a typical indoor level, followed by a roommate speaking at a louder level.
The second demonstration uses the Intellicomms microphone (seen in the foreground) with no other audio signal processing (all operating system and application audio processing disabled). The foreground sound level meter shows that the person really is speaking, but it is not transmitted. It ends with a loud door slam being transmitted – this allows loud alarm sounds to be heard in sound isolating headsets where the microphone output is mixed into the headphone audio.
