Compander

To an audiophile, any distortion of the audio signal is unacceptable. This is a major reason why companders are not

used in high fidelity consumer audio products.

The Syfx compander was specifically designed with

this in mind, resulting in a unique wide band

compander that provides a clean natural sound

regardless of the amount of compression or expansion being performed.

Unlike traditional companders that have increasing amounts of signal distortion as the frequency becomes lower, the Syfx compander has no signal distortion at any frequency. In addition, Syfx incorporates variable attack and release rates to avoid envelope distortion. Both the compression/expansion ratio and the variable attack/release rates may be easily changed in real-time to respond to system setting changes and the audio

signal itself. The result is clean, natural sounding compression or expansion that can be used in the most demanding home theater applications.
